Shopify Store Setup for Small Business

This is a done-for-you Shopify store build for small businesses that want to sell online without becoming a full-time webmaster. You get a fast, well-structured store, set up to actually convert visitors into buyers — typically live in 4-6 weeks with your products, payments, shipping, and taxes working from day one.

What's included

  • Shopify theme setup and customization matched to your brand (logo, colors, fonts, layout)
  • Up to 25 products loaded with optimized titles, descriptions, images, variants, and pricing
  • Collections, navigation, and search built around how customers actually shop
  • Payment processing, shipping zones, and tax setup configured for your location and products
  • Speed and image optimization so pages load fast on mobile (where most of your traffic comes from)
  • On-page SEO foundations: meta titles, descriptions, alt text, structured data, sitemap
  • Cart, checkout, and email flows (abandoned cart, order confirmation, shipping updates)
  • A short Loom walkthrough so you can add products, run sales, and check orders yourself

How it works

  1. Free 30-minute call to look at your products, current sales (if any), and what you want the store to do.
  2. Fixed quote and timeline. We agree on theme direction, product scope, and launch date before any work starts.
  3. We build the store on a staging URL — you see real progress in week one, not a month from now.
  4. You review, we revise, we test checkout end-to-end with a real transaction, then launch on your domain.
  5. Two weeks of post-launch support included: fixes, small tweaks, and answers as you start taking orders.

Who it's for (and who it's not)

Good fit: small businesses with a clear product line (10-100 SKUs), launching online for the first time or replacing a slow, ugly, or broken store. Local shops adding online ordering, makers going direct-to-consumer, service businesses selling physical add-ons.

Not a fit: stores with 1,000+ SKUs, complex B2B pricing tiers, or custom ERP integrations — you need a Shopify Plus specialist, not us. Also not a fit if you don't have product photos yet or haven't decided what you're selling. Get those sorted first, then come back.

What it costs

Shopify store builds run $4,000-$10,000 depending on product count, design complexity, and whether you need migration from another platform. Most small-business stores land in the $5,000-$7,000 range and launch in 4-6 weeks. You'll have a fixed quote before we start — no surprise invoices, no hourly billing. Shopify's own subscription ($39/mo and up) is separate and paid by you directly.

In short

A real Shopify store, built fast, tuned to convert, and handed off so you can run it yourself — not a template you'll be stuck paying someone to touch every month.

Questions about this service

How long does it take to launch a Shopify store?

Most small-business Shopify builds launch in 4-6 weeks from kickoff. Week one is design direction and theme setup, weeks two and three are product loading and configuration, week four is review and testing, and we launch in week five or six after you've signed off on a real test checkout. If you have all your product info, photos, and brand assets ready on day one, we can sometimes move faster. Tight deadlines (e.g., a holiday launch) should be flagged on the intro call.

Do I need to buy Shopify before we start?

No. We'll set up a development store for free, build everything there, and only switch you to a paid Shopify plan right before launch — usually the $39/mo Basic plan, which is plenty for most small businesses starting out. You pay Shopify directly; we don't mark up their subscription. If you already have a Shopify account, we can work in yours from day one. Either way, you own the store and all the data.

Can you migrate my existing store from WooCommerce, Squarespace, or another platform?

Yes, and we do this regularly. Migration adds 1-2 weeks and usually $1,000-$2,500 depending on how many products, customers, and orders need to come over, plus whether your old URLs need 301 redirects to protect SEO. We'll audit your current store on the intro call and quote migration as a line item so you can decide if it's worth it. For stores under 50 products, it's often faster to rebuild fresh than to migrate.

Will my Shopify store be good for SEO?

Yes — we set up the technical SEO foundations every Shopify store needs: clean URL structure, meta titles and descriptions on products and collections, image alt text, structured data for products, an XML sitemap submitted to Google, and fast page speed. That gets you eligible to rank. Actually ranking for competitive product terms still requires content, backlinks, and time — usually 3-6 months minimum. We can add ongoing SEO and content work after launch if you want to push for organic traffic instead of just relying on ads.

What about payment processing, shipping, and taxes?

All included in the build. We set up Shopify Payments (or Stripe/PayPal if you prefer), configure shipping zones and rates for where you actually ship, and turn on automatic tax calculation for your location. For U.S. stores, we use Shopify's built-in tax engine; for more complex setups (multi-state nexus, international), we'll flag whether you need a specialist like TaxJar or Avalara. You'll test a real transaction end-to-end before launch so there are no surprises.

What happens after the store launches — am I on my own?

You get two weeks of post-launch support included: bug fixes, small tweaks, and answers as real orders start coming in. After that, you have three options. Most clients run the store themselves using the Loom walkthrough we record (adding products, running sales, fulfilling orders is easier than people expect). Some clients keep us on a small monthly retainer ($200-$500/mo) for ongoing tweaks and questions. A few hire us for follow-on projects like email marketing setup, ad landing pages, or automation. Whatever you pick, you own everything and can leave anytime.
